An ILS International Pool Lifeguard course was organised in Douala, Cameroon from 15 to 22 December 2019. The course was subsidised by the ILS Projects Funds and was under the banner of the Cameroon Swimming and Lifesaving Federation (FECANAS).
29 candidates (27 men and 2 women) followed the course which lasted 50 hours (6 days of 8.5 hours) and one full day of examinations.
The classroom was located in Hotel Belavie in Douala and the swimming pool used was the one of the Cameroon Red Cross. The course was regularly visited by the authorities of the Cameroon Federation. The course Instructor was Mohamed Rharbal (called Simo Alaska) from Morocco. Two local Instructors; Landry Touka and Cabrel Jehovah were assistant instructors.
