The International Lifesaving Federation has appointed Agadir in Morocco as the location of the 2022 Lifesaving World Championships. With the outbreak of the Corona Virus at the end of 2019 (Covid-19) and the rapid spread of the virus in 2020, the 2020 World Championship that was planned in 2020 in Riccione – Italy, will take place in 2022 in the same city. In view of the serious pandemic situation, the Moroccan Lifesaving Federation has kindly accepted to postpone the organisation of the 2022 Championship of Agadir and host it in September 2026.

The Hotels, Beach venue, Pool venue and Lifesaving Village are all within 1,8 km from each other, which is all on walking distance. Therefore the 2026 LWC will be green and compact World Championships.
