The Lifesaving Federation of Burkina Faso organised and Course for Pool Lifeguard and Beach Lifeguard from 24 to 30 June 2019 in Ouagadougou – Burkina Faso.
The course leader was Mady Compaore, the President of the Burkina Faso Lifesaving Federation. The course was provided in French by Mohamed Rharbal (Morocco) (better known as Simo Alaska). He is an ILS accredited Instructor.
The objective of the project was to create good levelled International Pool Lifeguards that could provide Lifeguard services in the country in accordance with the ILS standards.
The Government of Burkina Faso has constructed, with the aid of the Princess Charlène of Monaco Foundation, a swimming pool in the Ouagadougou region. The course has provided sufficient lifeguards to that pool as well as to the other pools of Ouagadougou. 50 students (48 male and 2 female) participated in the course.
