DESCRIPTION:The Tunisian Federation of Underwater Activities and Aquatic Lifesaving organised an ILS International Lifeguard Instructors course in Tunis (Tunisia) from 18 to 25 November 2017. The objective of the course was is to create good levelled International Lifeguard Instructors that could provide Lifeguard courses in the country in accordance with ILS standards. \nTwenty-four (24) students from two nations took part in the course: Tunisia and Algeria. \nThe Instructor was: Dr. Harald Vervaecke PhD.

DESCRIPTION:The Royal Moroccan Lifesaving Federation organised the First African Drowning Prevention Conference on 29 October in Agadir\, Morocco. \nIn total Delegates from 22 African Nations participated in the Conference: Algeria (1 participant)\, Benin (1)\, Burkina Faso (1)\, Cameroon (2)\, Central African Republic (1)\, Cape Verde (1)\, Comoros (2)\, Djibouti (1)\, Egypt (3)\, Gambia (3)\, Ghana (3)\, Guinea-Bissau (1)\, Kenya (3)\, Mauritania (2)\, Morocco (54)\, Niger (1)\, Sao Tome and Principe (2)\, Senegal (1)\, South Africa (2)\, Sudan (1)\, Tunisia (2)\, Zambia (1). \nBesides the African nations\, seven (7) nations from Europe and the Asia-Pacific Region participated: Belgium (3)\, France (2)\, Monaco (1)\, Norway (1)\, Portugal (ASNASA)(1)\, Spain (2) and the United Arab Emirates (1). \nSo\, in total 29 nations participated in the Conference that counted some 100 delegates.

SUMMARY:African Lifesaving Championships - Agadir - Morocco
DESCRIPTION:The Royal Moroccan Lifesaving Federation organised the first All-African Lifesaving Competition in Agadir (Morocco) from 25 to 29 October 2017. The Championship was under the high patronage of H.R.H. the King Mohammed VI of Morocco. The event was attended by one Minister\, the Mayor of Agadir\, Mayoral Deputies and co-workers of the city\, high ranked Military authorities and more than 15 National Lifesaving Presidents and or National Board Members. The event was also attended by two delegates of the Princess Charlène of Monaco Foundation. \nThe participants (competitors\, technical officials and team officials) came from the following 30 nations: Algeria (1 participant)\, Belgium (4)\, Benin (1)\, Burkina Faso (1)\, Cameroon (5)\, Central African Republic (1)\, Cape Verde (2)\, Comoros (2)\, Djibouti (1)\, Egypt (24)\, France (2)\, Gambia (4)\, Ghana (6)\, Guinea-Bissau (5)\, Kenya (13)\, Mauritania (5)\, Monaco (1)\, Morocco (56)\, Netherlands (4)\, Niger (1)\, Norway (4)\, Portugal (ASNASA) (2)\, Sao Tome and Principe (2)\, Senegal (1)\, South Africa (2)\,  Spain (9)\, Sudan (1)\, Tunisia (2)\, United Arab Emirates (2)\, Zambia (1). It was the first time that so many countries of Africa participated. \nThe Overall classification of the 10 first nations was: 1. Morocco (858 points)\, 2. Spain (836)\, 3. Egypt (520)\, 4. Kenya (275)\, 5. Netherlands (255)\, 6. African Academy (118)\, 7. France (48)\, 8. Guinea-Bissau (39)\, 9. Senegal (38)\, 10. Norway (28). \n
