SUMMARY:2025 - World Conference on Drowning Prevention - Egypt
DESCRIPTION:The World Conference on Drowning Prevention is due to take place in the city of Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt). \nSharm El Sheikh is an Egyptian city on the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula\, on the coastal strip along the Red Sea. Its population is approximately 55\,000 as of 2023. Sharm El Sheikh is the administrative hub of Egypt’s South Sinai Region\, which includes the smaller coastal towns of Dahab and Nuweiba as well as the mountainous interior\, St. Catherine and Mount Sinai. The city and holiday resort is a significant centre for tourism in Egypt\, while also attracting many international conferences and diplomatic meetings. Sharm El Sheikh is one of the Asian cities of Egypt\, it’s also called “the city of peace” referring to the large number of International Peace Conferences that have been held there. \nLocated on the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula\, Sharm El Sheikh is one of Egypt’s most popular and luxurious resort destinations. Known for its crystal-clear waters\, world-class diving\, and year-round sunshine\, Sharm El Sheikh attracts visitors from around the globe. The Red Sea here is teeming with marine life\, making it a top spot for scuba diving and snorkelling. The area also boasts stunning coral reefs\, upscale hotels\, and vibrant nightlife\, offering a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. SUMMARY:2028 - Lifesaving World Championships - Morocco
DESCRIPTION:The 2028 Lifesaving World Championships\nThe International Lifesaving Federation has appointed Agadir in Morocco as the location of the 2022 Lifesaving World Championships. With the outbreak of the Corona Virus at the end of 2019 (Covid-19) and the rapid spread of the virus in 2020\, the 2020 World Championship planned in 2020 in Riccione – Italy\, was postponed to October 2022 in Riccione – Italy. In view of the serious pandemic situation\, the Royal Moroccan Lifesaving Federation kindly accepted to postpone the organisation of the 2022 Championship of Agadir and host it in September 2028 in Agadir. \n\n\nMorocco\, officially known as the Kingdom of Morocco is a unitary sovereign state located in the Maghreb region of North Africa. Geographically\, Morocco is characterised by a rugged mountainous interior\, large tracts of desert and a lengthy coastline along the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. \nMorocco has a population of over 33.8 million and an area of 446\,550 km2. Its capital is Rabat\, and the largest city is Casablanca. Other major cities include Marrakesh\, Tangier\, Salé\, Fes\, Agadir and Meknes. \n\n\n\nAgadir is a major city in mid-southern Morocco. It is located on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean near the foot of the Atlas Mountains\, just north of the point where the Sousse River flows into the ocean. \n\n\n\nAgadir is a fine and modern city at the Atlantic Ocean with wide avenues\, blooming gardens\, superb hotels\, first grade airport and a magnificent port. The population of Agadir (approximately 700\,000 people) is known for their hospitality and care and you would surely find yourselves wanting to come back to enjoy the city. \n\n\n\nThe Hotels\, Beach venue\, Pool venue and Lifesaving Village are all within 20 km from each other\, which is all on walking distance.
