Rights | Graduates will become Certified in Lifesaving Coaching and Refereeing. By that way, they will be able to provide lifesaving training and assist in the refereeing of national and international lifesaving championships. |

Place | Nairobi – Kenya. |
Number | The course will be organised for any African country wishing to participate. A maximum of 40 participants will be accepted, including 20-25 from Kenya. |
License and Insurance | Registration also covers insurance. |
Training hours | Certificate of Lifesaving Coach – Level A & B : 2 days course.
Certificate of Lifesaving Referee – Level B : 2 days course. The courses take place from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. |
Exam | The exam will take place on 16 March 2025.
The results will be announced after the examinations. |
Admission Requirements | · Present a certificate of medical fitness.
· Have a minimum level of education until 18 years of age. · Have preferably obtained a lifeguard certificate. |
Course language | The course will be in English. The candidate must have a perfect command of this language. |
Deadline for sending the file | Application files consisting of the following documents must reach the KLF headquarters before 1 March 2025:
· A request to register for the course. · A certificate of medical fitness. · A copy of the swimming pool or beach lifeguard certificate (not mandatory). |
Costs | Student from Kenya
· Each student covers the cost of travel to Nairobi. · Each student covers the cost of accommodation and food during the week of the course. · ILS covers the cost of photocopying the textbook for each student. · Each student pays course fees of 20,000 Kenyan Shilling. |
Student from one of the neighboring countries (Ethiopia, Djibouti, Somalia, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, etc.)
· Each student (or the student’s federation) covers the cost of visas and air tickets from their country to Nairobi airport. · Each student (or the student’s federation) covers the cost of accommodation and food during the week of the course. · Each student (or the student’s federation) pays the course fees of 20,000 Kenyan Shilling. |

Kenya Lifesaving and Diving Association (KLF)
· The KLF covers the transportation costs from Nairobi Airport to the hotel and back. · The KLF covers the rental costs of the premises and the swimming pool. · ILS covers the cost of photocopying the textbook for each student. · The KLF provides the equipment for the course and covers the equipment rental costs (if any). |

International Lifesaving Federation (ILS) and the ILS-Africa Academy
· ILS covers visa fees and airfare for the Instructor. · The ILS covers the Instructor’s accommodation for 8 nights. · ILS covers instructor catering for 8 days. · The ILS covers the Instructor’s allowances. · ILS covers the costs of Certificates, Cards and Badges. |
